I'm starting to believe that luck really does have a lot to do with it though, if it's not your day you just aint gonna win it, sure you can improve your chances by playing well with crap cards, but if you keep getting bad cards/flops/turns/rivers/allins etc then the gig's fuct.
I'm definitely going to have to agree with the sprinkling of luck part Hell. The question is though, just how much luck is necessary to compliment one's skills at the table?. I mean, can one "know" whether or not it's just not his day to win so to speak?. And if so, can he/she counteract that in anyway in relation to their skills?.
