ok this might sound a bit stupid but im stumped.

ring games over the last week i've lost nearly a grand, my bankroll is getting so low im amazed time and time again by the amount of hands people are getting.

heres some examples.

sitting at a 50c/1 table for about 5hrs, playing tight, up a buyin. (6 seater)
new guy comes to the table, i get KK on the first hand he is there, he has AA, i lose money.

next hand, i have JJ, he has AA i lose money.

next hand i have AK, he has AA i lose money.

no joke either, first 3 hands. i hadn't seen that many good cards in the 5hrs i'd been playing so the cards i had i thought were good, to be busted by AA 3 times running is insane BY the same player, not to mention the odds of it happening.

anyway after about 30mins there and me folding lots of AK, AQ preflop and seeing him with KK, QQ etc i left about $80 lighter, after working for 5hrs i lost most of it in the space of 30mins due to insane cards that kept coming, and the worst part was he would call with rags and still win.

another example.

i generally play one high stake table and 3 lower ring game ones to keep me occupied. the amount of times i've floped the nuts (ie i have AK and flop QJ10) and get busted is insane. or i have J10 of diamonds etc and flop 2 to a flush and straight draw and DONT hit while getting busted by rags im starting to thing someone at PKR is watching my every move from one of those cystal balls directing cards and lauging there ass off.

im getting on the virge of a nervous breakdown here, its insane. i've never had this bad a run with this much insanity. hell the maths itself is boggling me.

i have better chance of being hit by a falling asteriod then some of the stuff i've seen its insane.

been beaten by 4 royal flushes in the past week 4!!

now you might think, well i saw you post your 4 of a kind screenies. but yeah thats in tournies! if i get 4 of a kind on a ring game i get busted by a royal!

ARGGGHHH i need to do something im going crazy.

any suggestions, and is it possible for people to be hacking?

Your not going to like my response but it has and will be said time and time again !!!

The chances of hacks as you say or online rigging of games is Bulls*** and thats the bootom line.

Bad beats are inevitable and they happen all the time online and live.

Online you play many more hands than you do live and therefore see more flops,outdraws,bad beats etc etc but im not going into all that as ive heard them all before and the excuses of online poker being bent.

As for you losing over $1,000 ,my condolenses its alot of money so perhaps you can look at it in different ways .

Either your overplaying your hands,in games that is to big for your bankroll or are just having a bad run (it happens)

Take a break ! believe me it can help focus on your game or try and use the bankroll management theory as pointed out in this forum.

trust me i know but i just said that cause i was frustrated, i made that post just after seeing a guy get AA 3 hands straight, wouldn't you think something was sus after 5hrs solid play and some new guy rocks up and gets that?

i know its BS about hacks, and i know its online and all that jazz but seriously the mathimatical odds are the things that bother me, seeing the sort of things i've seen on PKR is sometimes statistically impossible yet its been happening so often.

you obviously know your stuff (as do i) so you should understand what im talking about.

i manage my bankroll fine, and i can take a loss of this much from time to time but its frustrating as hell after working so hard. i can take bad beats i dont care about bad beats, i dont whinge about bad beats, and most of the time the things im seeing arn't bad beats, its just insane cards in insane situations.

instead of taking a break i think im going to move my live play bankroll on here and adjust my play style. i think i should start playing more like sammy fahah lol.

im just hoping this will pass like it always does, eventually my good play will catch up and in the long run i'll come out on top like i always have. i can cop a few grand lost in a couple of days because in a few months i'll have made hopefully 5-10x that from long long hours of solid play.

thats what im hoping anyway, its the only thing that keeps me going and has done for years.

If you seriously think someone is hacking PKR you need to speak to customer services! you need them to analyse every hand you've played in especially against this guy. They need to identify the true root cause of this to see if you are genuinely shit outta luck. which is sincerely hope you aint!!

it can't be hacks i was just being stupid, its impossible to hack the system of online poker, i was just frustrated this guy came along and yeah i forgot to mention his name was PKRLUVSME and that along with the card he was getting i had to make a post.

but stuff like this has been happening on a consistant basis for the last 3 weeks now. i spend a day or longer building up and grinding out, like 8-10hr sessions somedays, to be almost wiped out when i hit MONSTER hands only to be beaten by bigger monster hands.

i think the lesson i need to learn is when i have a monster, chances are someone else has a bigger one.

if you are in doubt mate, PKR will look into the player! you only have to ask them. no harm will be done

Omg! Sorry for the bad run your on Rosso, I've played with u before and know that u play a great game.

I had a run like that about a month ago, and went as far as sending an email to PKR questioning the random number generator. ( Stupid i know, but i was pissed ) I think i went 3 days without so much as winning a single hand. I couldn't even steal the blinds. And then, it got worse. My pocket rockets would get cracked, KK would never hold, Str8s were beat by flushes and flushes by full houses. I was getting more and more angry. Finally , I decided to take a couple of days off.

I came back to it PKR about a week later and won 4 STTs in a row had a couple final tables in tourneys and made a bundle on cash games. It wasn't nearly as much as i had lost but it did get my confidence back.

And that was the problem,when i was losing I believed that my trips were no good, that the guy would his flush etc. And i would fold what i now realise was the winning hand.

So maybe taking a break would help?

yeah thats the the thing i have been taking breaks lol. i go away for a week just the other week. i play alot of live poker also so i went and travelled a bit further then i normally do to play in some private cash games a few friends got me into and thats probally the only reason the losses online arn't affecting me so much.

This is interesting to me.

I dont care what anyone says. Im a computer science student, and as far as im concerned its impossible to make something completely random. If you made randomness the computer would go into a loop it cant get out of... or in simple terms... itwould crash... Because it would go on counting forever.

When you use the random number function thats in most programming languages the computer comes up with a set of numbers in the same order every time you restart it. This is because the numbers are taken from a massive matrix of numbers and the same process is always used to find them...


Anyway...

Sometimes online i think hands turn out too good to be true. But every time you question the randomness of the RNG they come up with some bumpth about independent people checking it.

Also on pkr.com they provide a link to the program they use for their random number generator. I'll have to check it but to be fair, I didnt understand it when i had a quick look.

I'll have to look carefully. Im pretty sure it will be the same as the RNG thats part of most programming languages... ie it always returns the same random numbers when its restarted.

hmmm i'd be interested in taking a look at the RNG also, i know a fair bit about computers and programs (not studying though) weres the link you found?
