I'm in Thailand - a "non approved region" - so although my location has nothign to do with my account security, in trying to access neteller from here, my account was immediately closed.

I've come off a half hour chat with their live support and they are telling me I cannot have control of my funds until I'm back in the UK (which won't be for 3 years). I explained this and they asked for utility bills etc - I'M TRAVELLING THE WORLD Doh! - how the heck can I do that?

They asked me if I'm now a resident of Thailand lol - to which I explained - no! I'm on a LONG holiday.

My home is England is still mine - I'm just not there for 3 years.

No matter, I'm shagged untill I move back to England.

This anti money laundering law is becoming daft.

I've had issues with Netteller as well - and that's from being based in South Africa with a perm address and all other requirements in place. My problems were/are in loading the account with funds via my credit card and withdrawing to it though.

Thats sucks man. What a stupid rule. I know quite a few people who use neteller and havent had any problems, but obviously they havent been in your situation. lol
Sorry to go a bit off topic, but i would just like to ask about this LONG holiday .. sounds amazing! Maybe you could open another thread about it? Just places your going etc. 3 years is a long time! Just curious Hope your having a good time!

:-) I won't do another thread, wrong site really :-) but we are basically going everywhere in the world. 3 Years is a long time but we'll be spending the European summers in Europe - we are keen to spend lots of time in France, Italy etc (looking for a new home ultimately), and all the other times, we'll be exploring the rest of the world.

Currently doing SE Aisia - prob move onto Japan & China in a few months. Going to Laos next (in 5 weeks time), then Cambodia then Vietnam.

Saved for over a year, rented the house out, put everything in storage, and off we went!

wow, that truly sounds amazing, must of put so much thought into it and money by the sounds of it :P

This Neteller account sounds a nightmare! Is there anyone back in the UK (family or friends) that you can trust who could login to your account for you and withdraw the funds?

Just been thinking about this, could you get a friend or family (in the UK) of yours to allow you to remote desktop to their computer and then login to your account from their computer, that way your IP should be originating from the UK. Worth a shot

Already thought of that but they want to phone me on a number that belongs to the country to run through security before they unlock the account. It;s no sweat - I'll be in London for a few days in June and do it then. Got plenty of dough in two poker sites to keep me going - and I win overall.

Total bull about not being able to refund me because I'm in America though.

Ah, I didn't realise that, ah well, looks like a short wait till June but at least you've got a long holiday to keep you happy
