.. on the flip side... got my first ever 1st in a 22$ SnG last night. Had a couple of 2nd's and 3rds, and losses, but this wat my first win. Felt great and I came back from 325 chips after a big suckout which I was well odds-on to win. Made some great calls on fairly obvious bluffs too.
Funny, After a terrible recent 100$ live game I seem to have found the nerve to follow my convictions when I suspect someone is stealing. |

lol - I know. 5 mins into the game, 100 entrants, 3500 starting chips , I raise 300 under the gun, and one guy immediately shoves all in. I thought, "man, I don't want to be on the line this soon, and it's an estimated 6 hour tourney". And I of course assumed you'd be playing for a fair while longer - which you were.
More stupid was my top pair flush draw which I chased to the river losing half my chips. Doh. LIve games - need practice. Need practice! :-) btw - you know I mentioned I went home and then won several games - it was the same thing. I just took the attidude of "OK, I'm not taking this shit any more". I didn't play like a fool, but this time I decided that "I" was going to be the one raising, "I" was going to be the stealer, "I" was going to be the one calling clear bluff steals on frightening boards. You get a bit more variance - I left a 10 seat bounty after 3 hands, but the next one, immediately after, a 6 seater, I won nearly every bounty and then the game. Then I repeated the same thing again. I've had enough of limping to the bubble then fighting for the win. I made my mind up that if I'm out I'm out. I dont' want 4ths any more. It's probably partly due to blowing $100 on a live game and then thinking, "why on earth am I trying to protect my bankrol online which easily covers playing looser by playing so tight, and my online bankroll is a lot more than $100". I make profit, but it's a slow grind. I'm a changed man! - online of course ;-) Last edited by Dodgey101 : 05-14-2008 at 11:26 PM. |

BTW you still playing on Carbon Dodge? I can't believe the ammount of fish and bluffers on that site! I was doing well against them, but it only takes a couple of bad suckouts to really knock your confidence... I will persist...

No, he's right - I played like shit :-) - seriously, it was a totally different game to what we played in London. The players were infinitely better. There were even muppets with hoodies and shades!
The games I played in Vegas were far easier. Carbon - yep - all the time. Get the best games there I've ever played! I can only play on Carbon at the moment - Neteller has my funds frozen until I return to the UK and Tital won't let me play as they detect my IP as in America. |
