Default Heads up anyone?

At last!

PokerOfficer™ - PKR HUD Software for PKR online poker

Bit expensive for what it is, but if you were but one guy who wrote a program that does something that no-one else does, how much would you charge?

Bought it last week, works perfectly.

It does work?

I was a bit suspicious about it, since it seems such a small program. Does it keep a database of all your hands? Or does it just track the behaviour of the players at that table at that moment, ie, does every player start with 0 hands every time you fire up the program.

Furthermore, it is way overpriced. PokerTracker and HoldemManager cost the same amount of money, but have much more options and possibilities. They dont work with PKR tho.

Yes it does work, but it is ONLY a HUD. It feeds off your hand history folder and shows cumulative stats (ie if you've played against a player before it'll show those stats). It is expensive for what it is, but if you play higher than 100nl then it is worth having for the few months between now and when PT3 catches up. It also works on tournaments too.

There is no database to view stats away from the tables, but apparently that might be added in the future.

Try the trial version. It'll show stats for seats 1-3 at any table, and you'll soon want the other 3/7 seats stats too.

I'm going to try the trial version in a few minutes, but applications like this just aren't for me. I'd rather go with my gut and personal knowledge of a player. And especially what he or she is doing at that exact moment compared to what their history might say about them.

Just my two-cents.

I downloaded the trial, and it seems to work perfectly, but it looks like the software also filters on limit? I have a lot of history on a guy playing 100NL, but if I sit with him at 200NL it says 0 hands.

JdhMac - going with instinct is fine if you're good at remembering what everyone is doing. If you have 2+ tables open, then it helps you keep track immensely.

There are many benefits of stats that you don't realise you miss until you've tried it, because the last 10 hands are just variance, it's the last 100+ hands that are a picture of how someone plays. ie. If someone raises preflop 2 or 3 times in the past 10 hands, you'll think they are getting frisky and you might go to war with AQ. But if you knew he's only done 5 raises in the past 100 hands, you'll know he's more likely just on a lucky streak of premium hands.

Thanks for the kind words about my HUD software.

Sounds like I should add options to the filtering by limit that is happening soon. As this has been mentioned a few times.

I'm not sure if the price is an issue, or if it's just a few people comparing it to the price of PT3 that wouldn't buy it anyway. PT3 has mass market so it can do low price. While PKR has a tiny fraction of the players. Though, no-one has emailed to say they want it but can't justify the cost.

PokerOfficer is a quality HUD product. I've used PT and PO and other HUDs, and put the best bits into a simple HUD for PKR. It's got everything you need at the table, and tracks all history. It's early days, and features will be added as required.

Nice to see you joined the PKRN forums

I think the price is a bit of an issue. Most of PKR players play low stakes, and the amount of players playing above 100NL is not that big. Pricing it at $60 is really costly if you play 50NL or lower.

What I am saying is, if you lower the price, more people will buy it because it becomes accessible to more players, so you will net more money.

Software like PT3 and HM have a lot more features, and are priced the same, so people will compare it anyway. The standalone hud for PT2 for instance (pokeracehud) was sold for $25.

If you drop your price to $40, you will lower the price by 1/3 but will sell twice as much copies.

Ow, and to comment on the software.

I like it how it easy to see the cbet and fold to cbet %

What I do want to see tho is the 3bet %. How often does a player reraise preflop?

And I understood from your previous post the software filters on limit. If I play someone at the 100NL, it will show different stats then when I play him on 200NL, or 50NL.
But does it also filter on fullring and 6-max?

Okay I'll take that into account soon. 3bet% is a good stat I will add that near the top of the stats-to-add soon list.

Yes it shows different stats when you are playing headsup, 3-4 handed, 5-6 handed and 7-10 handed. The filter options that come soon would also have options for this.

Although I get married this week so not a lot will happen for a few weeks now. :-)
