I've never been to a real live poker tourament, just played it with family and friends. Friends being card counters, they were all Accountants who knew the maths and also could tell a pour shuffler and predict the next card in the deck, anyway enough of that.

Wanted to know what live games people have played.. I have never played a live game. The Casinos I have been to have not had life poker games that I know off..

I played in Tunica Menphis. The Fitzgearald Hotel, any one been there? and Billoxi casinos. Neither off these places had poker tournaments that I know off.. so is Vegas the place to play? Not like I'd make it just wanted to know the place to aim to.. in me dreams..lol

There are several Casinos in Tunica with poker. Keep in mind that the poker rooms are usually not located in the casino area. When in doubt ask someone.

yeah vegas has to be the ultimate location to play poker (never been myself yet but im working on it)

im lucky and have a casino only 20 minutes drive from where i live and they hold tournaments 6 nights a week so i go there as often as i can.

Man Mr., you are lucky.

Although I do have a casino located actually just about the same distance away, two things get in the way of my playing live. First, I'm over here in Canada and the casino is across the border, and secondly they don't seem to offer that much live poker, let alone anything worth while heading over there for.

I'm with you on the Vegas thing though. Definitely need to head out there sometime soon. I'm 24 and everyone I know that's been out there says it's about that time in my life...

I think you're very mistaken. There are always games running at the Niagara Falls casinos. At the Seneca Casino there are two tournaments a day, one at 10:00 AM and one at 7:00 PM. On Sunday they have a "deep stack" tournament at 6:00 PM where players start with 4,000 in chips and blinds go up every 20 minutes.

As for Vegas, if you want to have a great time, come out during the WSOP and hang out with me and the boys and you will have a blast. Normally someone is heading out to play a tournament at any given hour of the day. In the past we've played 10am tournaments as well as 2am's. This year, I played some really long hours, finishing as late as 2:30am and 4:30am. I think I played till 2:30am twice and both were noon starts. So you better get in shape because sitting that many hours at a table really wears on you. And while you're at it, get your alcohol tolerance up before you come, because there's some intense partying going on in between. Man I love Vegas.

lol mac i dont play 6 nights a week but i would if i could,not actually played live poker for a long time now always busy with work etc.

yeah i defo want to get myself out to vegas in the very near future,not sure if id go while the wsop is on,not on my 1st visit anyway,i think the first time there would have to be a learning curve,a chance to check the place out at a leisurley pace something that wouldnt be possible during the wsop.

There are more fish in Vegas during the WSOP than any other time of year. Other than the WSOP, you have at least 4 other tournaments taking place, The deep stack, the mega stack, the binions tourneys as well as some others.

Trust me when I tell you that you're at least as good as 1/2 the players in any given field and I'm saying this without ever having played with you.

I'm about six hours away from the Toronto/Niagara region and just over an hour each way to Ottawa and Montreal.

The casino I was talking about is in the Massena, NY/Akwasasne Reserve area.
