i am sorry to say that i feel im losing my love for pkr at the moment,i just cant seem to get a break on the site.
pkr has been my number 1 choice of cardroom since it launched but over the past month or so my bankroll has dwindled down to next to nothing,i just cant seem to get anywhere.
my sit n go play is probably my strongest point but im not even winning many of those at the moment and i cant remember the last time i cashed in an mtt,which fair enough i dont play many of.

today i decided to play on another cardroom that ive not played at for a while (the one where its "fair to bet") and i noticed the difference in play almost straight away (mainly no donks at the table),i played in 3 tourneys cashed in all 3 and made the final table in 2 of them.

so im taking a break from pkr for a while,this isnt 1 of those rants about pkr being rigged because it isnt,no card room is.i just wanted you lot to know how i feel about the site at the moment and that good old mrj wont be around the pkr tables as much.

Interesting that we've had such radically different experiences taking a break from PKR - my experience at FT would be enough to put you off poker for a significant period. Glad to hear that you've found your form, wherever it may be - they say a change is as good as a rest and I don't regret having had a week away trying something different (and I will drop back into it as I still have a little bankroll left over there....) but to be honest I am really looking forward to playing a couple of games on PKR tonight - probably have a quick S&G and then play the $1250 GTD at 20 to 9.

Good luck with it - hope the run continues - personally I am going to make an effort to play a few more sites and at least keep my options open for those 'difficult' periods.

aw m8... a break is probably the best thing - those who have been enlightened KNOW that PKR is horrendously bad (sometimes even because it can horrendously good - you either hit everything or nothing) -but take some encouragement from someone who knows.. it happens to everybody, it feels personal but its not, watch how other people get dumped on round the same table, while the 'donkey' hits the most ridiculous longshots... and has the ability to rub it in with a bellylaugh.

visually - amazing.....
playability - first class.....
conforming to the laws of random chance and therefore producing realistic poker..... non existant
donkey factor..... 9/10

take time away, play in private tourneys or just low end recreational games where it doesn't matter... and remember this..

the only reason i play here on occasion (and many others too) is because of forums like this, and moreover.. people like you. it makes all the games fun and eventful, even greatly anticipated, so...

so i felt like this a few monthst ago i hated pkr it was a bad beat and pkr was full of fish i took about a month off i mean poker completely then i cam back all was good now it is slipping i feel i may take even more time off

a change in site is working wonders for me at the moment played in 5 tourneys the past couple of days and cashed in all of them,finished 3rd in one for a few hundered dollers,im playing the best cards ive played in a long time.

its amazing what a change of scenery can do for you.

I know exactly how you are feeling! I've had terrible week on PKR, I just can't win, I've been wiped out with AA five times in the past two days!

As for my bankroll waiting on the bank manager to pull the plug on me lol

I blame myself though! I think the more I lose the more impatient I get and start taking risks to get a big stash! I've even tried chanting, praying, wearing my lucky charm bracelet but to no avail..

Ah well think I'll just hit the bottle and enjoy the craic at the tables!

so last night was just another bit of proof the league game was a good one then it just seemed to fall to pieces ..well for a few off us..but alas it was another loss for me more disapointmet maybe a site change for a week or so will do me good so im going over to pokerstars and see what i can do see u all next week at the league game ...will be still posting to forum tho...sorry gixerD...

No apology required Gaz - my statement was that I was going to focus my posting - never my intention to discourage people from posting (wouldn't be much of a forum if that were the case) - My aim was purely to make people consider what they were posting to make sure it was stuff that (a) people would actually want to read and preferably also (b) stuff that would provoke discussion and debate. On occassion (shock, horror!) there are even useful snippets to learn from on the forum.....

I just realised that when I was flicking thought the posts that there was much ado about nothing....there was an increasing amount of stuff that didn't really say anything or promote any debate - an increasing amount of stuff that I just couldn't be bothered to read - thats a bad thing for any forum but this particular one is one that I like - I respect the opinions of people who post on here and hiding their stuff between worthless one line exchanges didn't seem particularly respectful or fair.....

Don't get me wrong - a lot of the general chat is worthwhile exchange - I think its only right we consider the apology from the deity (or is that dietee) that is Homer - although how anyone could possibly be offended by our good wholesome exchanges on a Sunday night I have no idea............Its about a balance - its good to have stuff like that here (as it shows we have obviously have no functioning sense of humour...)

I genuinely haven't had much worth saying this week (shell shocked from my brief experience of just a tiny part of the awesome marathon) which is why my postings have been sparse - all the time you have stuff to say then I support you all the way If you find something amongst some of the older stuff then by all means comment and bring it back to the wider attention of people using the forum - just remember the reason it probably got missed by people the first time is because it had been hidden amongst a lot of less worthwhile stuff......

I'm sounding like I'm preaching now - thats equally as bad!....right I'm back off to continue psyching up to storm the tables.........

in all seriousness - 100% agreement and a point well made (again). I'm tempted to spend December responding solely in the Russian forums with an "I agree" one-liner (although I will check the translation first) to try and sneak another top posting result or I may try and keep my views on forum posts to being something a tad more constructive/destructive... Just like Homers ball-licking tips which is rumoured to be getting its own forum sub-heading and video section!
