hi guys i posted this over on 2+2 but havn't got much responses so i thought i'd post it here and see if any of you software buffs might wanna give me a hand with this
wanted to know if there is a way to convert hand histories. i have a ton of handhistories i want to analyse (roughly 100-200k) from playing at a site for the last 6 months with no tracker support of any kind. now growing up playing online poker with tracker and stat tracking software pretty much from the start i'd love to know how i compare after 6 months of "blind" play shall we call it. the site in question is PKR and there is currently no support for any stat tracking software. i generally use pokeroffice but dont care if i have to use anything for this experiment. im basically after any ideas if its even possible, to convert the tons of hand histories i have into a form that would be readible for one of these stat tracking programs. IE convert into say FTP format handhistories so i can import with pokeroffice. is this even possible? has it been thought of before? is there a program already out there i am not aware of that can do this? any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Now I don't have the time to do this, but if you can find someone to do the script for you it should be doable...
you would need to have scripts (perl or whatever) to 1) rename each log file so it's name includes the date it was last modified, plus the time, so all the files are unique i.e. log2403071632.txt (24/03/06 16:32) 2) Parse the contained data to insert the date and time for each hand - get the date from the file name and the time from the file name, adding 1 minute to each susequent entry. 3) now format the files in a manner your favourite tracker software recognises. Back when I was a database programmer this would have been a doddle, but I'm getting older now :-p |

I'm sure more PKR players would love this tool, If one of you has the ability to write such a script, we can put it up for sale on here.

im actually in talks with some of my programer friends to write me up a script using perl or sed like you say dodgey.
of course they want a fee for this so im just trying to make sure they can do it properly first and then working out a price. i'd do it myself except its been a hell of a long time since i've done anything near to this and dont really have the time to go thru and figure out how to do all the scripting etc again. looking at my hand history folder i can sorta figure out how i could go about getting the dates and time. the folders they go into are named like this: 20070114 so thats date, then i can use the last modified tab in explorer to work out a rough estimate of the time, example on that folder date last modified was 14/01/2007 at 10:31pm also i can gointo that folder and look at the date modified of each individual hand history .txt Last edited by rosso87 : 05-16-2007 at 05:12 PM. |

I'm sure there would be a lot of people interested in a tool like this given the absence of any real support from poker tracker, poker-spy, poker office; all programs lying unused on my desktop

i did it... its working fine for SnGs / Tournaments .. sometimes the won amount is not 100% accurate (because of the different ways partypoker and pkr calculate the pots)
but i think this isnt sooo important i just need a partypoker handhistory where someone finished first.. i need to know how partypoker saves the won amount and finishing positions i added something like this.. just for the sake of it knrrjohle wins 11750 chips from the main pot TAMSACE finished in 2 place knrrjohle finished in 1 place but thats fairly not enough i even wrote a nice feature, if you supply your username and password, it grabs the actuall buyin from the pkr page.. this is pretty neat if you want to convert all your old handhistories, but without the winnings in the handhistory its useless.. you have to add this manually afterwards in pokertracker and thats just ridiculous.. maybe someone of you knows someone who plays (and wins) at partypoker? greetings.. |
