This is interesting (well to me).

I started this caper convinced sites were rigged in a way to keep you reloading. Reloading = more rake for them. No reloading = no more rake = bust. (when you put your 100$ in - that's it - their rake is fixed - they can't make more from you no matter how you play, unless you reload)

BUT - people win and people lose. The losers reload and keep the machine oiled, the winners, well , then don't pay. And we all know there are like over 90% of losers. Or thereabout.

So the money machine needs no fixing. The losers fund it.

The only scope for fixing is greed. To make even more money. To take from the losers AND the winners.

I've said on here before. I dont' trust poker sites. Gaming machines have been rigged for years and they've got rumbled. In gambling, if more money can be made, they will make it.

BUT - over time, I've also realised that the way one plays can have a huge perspective on their perception. Simplest example is having an attitude of "It's rigged" can make you tilt without even knowing it. You take a chance on a hand you shouldn't do because you think "heck, I'm destined to lose anyway, lets have a laugh... oh yeah - see - I lost" and so it goes on. You reinforce your conviction and make the "situation" worse.

Why am I posting this? I made double my money on FT, and double on Cake. I withdrew 75% on both. I hit my bonus targets on both. I'm doing grand on Carbon. I'm in a great mood. I've no issues.

A week on from withdrawing from FT and Cake I can't win a single game on either. Either laughable hole cards (and I mean laughable), or missing the flop spectacularly. This is not a case of stupidly chasing rivers. I've not been getting past the starting gate. Unplayable. Only way I could have won would have been to push big raises with 2 7 off ALL the time. We know that does not work past a few hands in a game.

Yet on Carbon (deposited same time I withdrew from FT and Cake)...

Only reason I didn't place on one was I entered because there were no players for a 10$ game and I was bored. Bored = stupid play - not taking it seriously (I was 4th)

It's odd - but then back to the title of this thread - is it the psychology that is affecting me? Am I winning on Carbon and sucking on Cake because

a) The cards are unplayable - not my fault and it's a coincidence
b) I withdrew
c) I am putting more effort into Carbon as It's new

Who knows? but it's food for thought.

p.s. the change was so drastic - and I mean drastic to the point I sat and laughed on cake and Ft at my cards and flops, that I have emptied both accounts. Shame it takes 40 mins to get a $10 SnG on Carbon :-P

Ya know, no matter how long you play, how good you think you are, you almost always find suspicions/conspiracies you are never able to shake. One of mine is the withdraw=lose key.

About 1.5 weeks ago, I withdrew about $800 from DawggHousePoker, leaving me about $600 on there. Within 2 days, I was down to right around $100. Were some sick hands. Would flop nuts, guy would have 2 pair or so, we'd get the money in, and he would spike it. I'm not saying this happened once or twice, but repeatedly over the next 24 hours. Took a day off, came back, and was able to grind it back. Up to around $800..but the best part: $120 in rakeback already this month. I love rakeback.

Full Tilt seems to come in s. I am currently struggling there at the moment, being constantly outdrawn. 4 times today alone I hit a flush but the river brought a full house to the other guy. Also can't win a race whichever way I am in at the moment. I have AK to their pair, no A or K comes. I have pocket pair to their A-x, an ace hits. I have A-Q, it's get taken down easily. Someone else gets A-Q, they win a huge pot. It's driving me mad again at the moment. lol

And I still can't get the continuous shuffle out of my head. Every time I lose a pot on the river I keep thinking "I should have waited one more second to call that turn bet". lol

Not sure if it is just coincidence, but I have completed the bonus now and since then I've struggled. I haven't withdrew any yet, although i was thinking of skimming some of the profit off soon.

I did go back and played a few hundred hands on PKR at the low level cash tables for a change. And to be honest, I am still concerned about that site ... but that's in another thread

Well I've now met a whole new world of hurt. Cake are refusing to give me my money back without

- copy of my credit card front and back (NO WAY!!!)
- copy of my passport
- copy of the statement of the card I used

I'm leaving the country in 7 weeks so have been clearing out stuff. I dont' have statements, I dont' have access to a scanner or copier. And there is 100% no way I'm sending a front and back copy of my card to them - whichever card it was I used (I have about 10)

I can't believe it - they take my money instantly, and then want me to jump through unreasonable hoops to take it back out - I'm totally fucked off with them to be honest.

PKR needs the same documents if you want to cash out. The only site that I encountered which doesnt need such documents is dawghousepoker.

I think they just want to see your autograph or something.

I sent Cake the scans of my creditcards, but I blocked out the middle numbers and the security numbers on the back (dont know how it is called).

So I sent them 1234 xxxx xxxx 5678.

Didnt sent them a statement of the creditcard tho, only a utiltity bill. I sent them the exact same items I also sent to PKR.

Ive made 2 large cash outs from pkr and have never had to send them any documentation, just abit of gentle prodding to make them process it faster.

I think they have to ask you for all those documents to prevent creditcard fraude.

Neither, I used a debit card

It's random. they don't always ask for documents. But eventually everyone who cashes out regularly does have to send some ID

Yes Dodgey, I have yet to find a site that doesnt at least have random documentation checks, if not forcing everyone to have this documentation on file (poker.com was like this, locked my account once). It is a legitiment reason, however, if you have issues, talk to support, they are always very helpful.
