Default weak hand wins on the river

What has happened to PKR in the recently?
Why in an heads up situation does the weakest hand ALWAYS win!!!!
it does not even have to be a heads up situation eg. you have layed a nice little trap and from previous hands u can judge what the fish has and.........the clown hits runner runner to make his/hers str8, house or more commonly flush .
This has not been a one off!
I am not new here and i am cool with bad beats but the odds on the shit i have seen happening is totally out of order
I recently cashed out and go figure the river has been kicking my ass constantly,.
I can understand the excitement that PKR is going for with "anyone can win" mentality but please PKR turn the bad beats dial down for the sake of my sanity.

"laying nice traps" is very dangerous unless you have the nuts. The turn and river are no different from the rest of the cards. There is no reason why people should not hit on the river. It's just another card. The problem is getting into too mamny confrontations that go as far as the river. Better opposition will respect your raises and not go so far.

I used to say the very same thing, and then realised that I was playing the wrong type of players. Players who will call out to the river regardless. It becomes bingo. I found I had to change sites and stakes to get a more intelligent game. And it was the site, not the stakes that was the major factor.

As far as I see it, people on PKR have a habit of projecting their personal image onto their 'toons too much. They do all the emotes, act it up, and are reluctant to fold. They take it too personally. Where as on vanilla 2d sites, it's a bunch of cards, some money, and job to get done. It's far easier to lay a hand down when you are just one of ten icons clicking the auto fold button. Not so when your 3D toon has spent the last couple of minutes saying "bring it on" and "chicken".

As for the big stacks always winning - of course they do! they have big stacks - they get to play big stack poker! - which means playing marginal hands as well as good ones. They are playing so many more hands than anyone else to the turn/river they are bound to hit more. They get to be Gus Hansen in card selection. They can afford it.

My advice would be to find games that have less chasers and then you can take down pots before the last 2 cards come down. No nasty surprises then.

Thanks for the advice Dodgey, I have calmed down now. I like your opinion on the player becoming more attached to the character they are potraying,.
cheers thanks for the wise words ill be choosing my battles more carefully.

Good for you :-) - my advice is obv. just my personal perspective - I'm no expert! - but one thing is for sure - constant riverplay will be a roller coaster ride.
