Ok, playing last night and today and the software freezes. Little connection light (top right pop-out) goes red showing 0/10 connection. Then goes green 10/10 connection. Then goes red, orange and red, then not responding etc etc. I go to pokerstars and no problems, come back on PKR same thing. I have a latest spec laptop .. dual core etc, and good enough or better to be able to run PKR with no probs.
Is this a problem with PKR, software or is it my end and an issue with my broadband connection?
Any soloutions to keeping the connection good?

It could be on either end, hard to tell. If it continues, contact PKR support.

i get this occaisionally some days more then others ive just put it down to pkrs server.

i wouldnt worry about it.

Usually if you contact PKR Support, they'll blame it on your video card...however, it does just seem to be an issue with regards # of users online plus when they're starting to test updates. Typically when you get a run of it being a real pig to connect or to see tables available, you'll find an update will appear about 5 days later....

Ok, here is a tip for people using wireless connection to your router/hub thingy (or whatever the technical term is)
Someone I know who is a computer whizzzz and I asked him about the problem, he checked it out for me. Here is what he done.

If you are using a wireless broadband conection, you have to get into the wireless channel settings of the router/hub thingy. Mine was set on channel 7. He said that is the wrong channel!?!? apparently you can use any of about 12 channels but channel 11 is what it should be set on and is the premium wireless channel.
So if you know how to change the wireless channels of your router, make sure it's on channel 11 to keep a premium connection to run PKR.

For an hour before he changed the channel I had the problems set out in the post above. Once he changed the channel it ran perfect with 3 tables running and a 9/10 - 10/10 constant connection.
Hope that's some help.

Channels of a wireless connection can make a difference but you'd usually see problems with all your internet browsing/etc. Different channels can help improve connection stability problems if you're finding a weak signal in different places in the house or if you tend to have your laptop/PC overly close to other electrical items.

Of course, you may also find that you've left the wireless router on all its default settings and your neighbours are connecting to it at set times of day just to use up bandwidth and ruin your pkr!!

Also, keep mobile phones away from your computers.

hmm Stop your pron downloads (or any other) while playing PKR . For some reason it begins to lag if you dont have a free connection it seems. I ussually run torrents (for around half my broadband line leaving 2Mb free) but pkr begins to lag and risk lagging out of a hand if i dont cancel my down/uploads. I dont know if it downtrafic or up traffic thats sets it off as torrents go both ways.

Anyways I play on cake also , there it is no problem even if i almost use my full line.

this happened to me the other day and it was so annoying.

Had pp8's flop was 4 8 J i bet the pot about $4 and the agressive pusher went all in i hit call and connection lost went to all in protection and when i got back on found out that i won it but only the $12 odd instead of the all in grrrr.

But it happens. Not sure whos end i think it was theirs as it was happening all day, so got off. Next day it was fine.
