Default lol - nothing odd about the RNG

I put $50 back in PKR for a giggle.

I've not played poker like it since, well, since I last played at pkr several years ago!

Flush beaten by higher flush both times. Nothing odd there. What was "odd" is that on one occasion the chap called a $1.50 raise on a 10/25c table with K2 OFF and eventually hit a runner runner flush to beat my jack flush. The other time Someone played A2clubs with a preflop $1.50 raise.

Never won a cent with AA - got it three times but no matter what you raise, you get LOTS of callers. Unreal. You can raise $1.50 and get 5 or 6 callers. Of course this devalues your aces to pretty much nothing.

Not unusual to see $5 - $8 raises and STILL get people fishing with drawing hands.

No other site like it.

I tried to sit tight and take advantage but really, when you decide to play a hand, it frequently ends up being a coin flip as you simply can't push people off drawing hands.

I lost my $50 in a couple of days. I consistently win on the 4 other sites I play. I just could not put anyone on any specific cards, and when I was sure I'd won, some chump would have an absurd hand that beat me, Hillarious really.

PKR is definatley reserved for "Saturday night fun" in my mind.

:-)

I had an awful day too. My first session of the day was at 100nl (as usual). I left one table with $480, another with $250 and the other with $160...yet I only managed to finish the session $230 up. The session started beyond brutal...I was lucky to pull it back!

So I go back in the evening for a mess about in a tournament. Make it to the mid stage, but as per usual i'm set next to the chip leader...who seemingly can call any hand and hit. AK vs A9...yeah, he hit trip 9's on the flop. Game over.

I played at two tables during this tournament and within an hour i'm $250 down. every 60/30 situation where i'm ahead, I lost.
KK vs AK, no good, AKs vs QQ, no good (10JQ flop, junk turn, J river - I believe i had around 90/10 odds on the turn).
I had a guy at the table buy in for $20 and leave with $200. I honestly do not think I won a pot at the table over $20. He'd crack my Aces or Kings by calling bottom pair or inside draws to the river and hit his straight/trips. I ended $300+ down. Seriously, if you have more than 2 people in the pot when you're holding AA or KK, and they are willing to call their bottom pair or inside/backdoor draw to the death, you will lose...every time!

But I decided to try the donk tactic a few nights ago. I got dealt 47o and reraised x14 preflop. Flopped 3TJ. I bet pot on the flop, turn comes 5. I bet pot. Turn comes 6...unreal...but it works

It's worth going for the straights. lol

I too just had a bad time on PKR. I kept getting 2 pairs beaten by trips. Happen 4 times in about 10 hands and I decided to quit for the night and play elsewhere. lol

I watched a bit of PKR TV on Sky and YouTube. You can see it all happening, it's so funny.

One hand in the tourney, two guys had KQ, one female had 9-7 suited. Now I may have remembered this wrong, but you might find it. To cut it short, the flop gave her a gutshot I think, with 8-5-7 coming ouy. They all checked. The turn was a Queen, so naturally one guy bet out. She raised big and I think the KQ guys ended up all-in and she had called the re-raises. She was hugely behind and I truthfully remember thinking ... "Here comes the 6". Sure enough, the river was a 6 and she hit the straight. lol

Now I know the above hand isn't unusual in poker, but it happens soooo much on PKR.

I currently spend a lot of time on VC Poker on the iPoker network, and I can certainly tell there is a difference from PKR, both in the way players play and the the texture of the boards.

Problem is, I am winning on PKR because a lot of the players are bad.

Exactly.

The best tactic at PKR is to 'test the water' for 30 minutes or so. Usually if a session starts off badly there, it will continue badly until you quit. And vica verca.

There IS an insane amount of straights and flushes considering the hands p/hour (usually 1 in every 6 hands or so), and a HUGE majority of players are clueless and are willing to chase every draw. You just have to hope you catch them on their bad day...

The most annoying type of donk though, are the ones who don't realise they actually are one...but are more than happy to give you a pile of abuse when it's you that hits the draw. I reraised an open ended straight flush draw on the turn a couple of nights back and hit the straight on the river. The guy went off on one, calling me a "idiot donk", and a "lucky slut" (you'd understand when you see my character!) and left

Lol @ this...everyone only has a hand worth enough to limp, yet, not only if my x5 preflop bet worth calling, but they are all willing to risk their entire stacks...i've said this before, but, i've never seen this kinda crap happen anywhere before.
And, someone may say it was bad play by me, but seriously, ATs is a monster when all these idiots had hands only good enuff to limp with!

Like I said before, the quality of play on PKR means it's impossible to play anything other than Bingo on the SnG's.
I just played a SnG ... Blinds 30/60 ... have 1420 and A-A in the hole, raise it up to 280.
With 2 clubs hitting the flop I raise it up all-in and obviously WildBill67 has almost a 50% chance of flushing if he holds 2 clubs in the hole, that he eventually did when he called.
WildBill67 calls with Q-4 clubs.

Now I got no problem with the call post flop, but to call pre flop with suited trash like Q-4 just makes the games on PKR a joke.

All I can take from it is I got in with the best of it, but boy this place sucks for the standards of play that it even destroys the enjoyment of playing decent poker.

Play some double throughs then. Then you just sit tight and watch 5 people make an ass of themself. Or your gonna get a decent pokergame if you see they dont go maniac.

The doublethroughs seem to be a rockgarden. Anyone played some of them yet?

I haven't played a double through. I don't see the point really, you may as well just play a heads-up match
