The thing is it's not the players who are the problem, it's the cards. Sure I can read noobs and hot-heads and play them accordingly, but there's not much you can do against outrageous bad fortune.

wow if you think those are bad beats thats pretty shocking, maybe i should dig into my hand histories and show you some beats, like runner runner 3% chance to win beats and quads beaten by straight flushes beats. you havn't got a hard poker back if things like that are worrying you :S especially as most seem to be in tournys.

PKR is a UK based Poker site and like all poker site based in the UK they are monitored. PKR is regularly audited by The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC)

OK lets say for arguments sake that PKR has lively cards and lots of fish, adjust your game and you can make a fortune. Almost all poker rooms use the exact same RNG, I think the reason you're seeing so many deadly rivers is because of the players.

Also I'm gonna give you all a little hint to playing online poker. Start recording these hands you find odd in a notebook, make sure you record which player went allin and see what the percentage is of the player going allin winning the hand. I know of one site where the player who goes allin wins 80% of the time. If its the BS going allin it's 90%.

I saw a good 'twisty' hand today. One players goes all-in with around $10 and got one caller. He went all-in with AA (no surprise there), but was called by Q6! I mean Q6? Perfect example of what your saying Assistance. Anyway, the flop came down Q-6-x (lol, no surprise there either -- just joking) so the donk looked like he was going to suck out. However there was another twist. The Q6 on the flop were both clubs and one of the aces in the AA was a club. And hey presto, turn was a club and river was a club.

So AA does hold up sometimes, even if it does have to work for it. hehe

I also had AA hold up against AK suited the other day, but on the other side I took a crappy loss when I raised x8 with AA and got one caller. Flop came 4-5-7 which didn't bother me too much. He couldn't have called with 8-6 after all could he? lol, well in fact he had. He had called with 8-6 off suit and flopped a straight. Had to shut down and play another game after that just to cool down. lol. It wasn't the fact my aces got beat, it's the strange calls some of these guys make that gets under my skin. Had AA cracked last week too by 4-5 when he hit a straight. He called an all-in because "He had a feeling it would hit". lol

On the bright side, most of the time these donks do actually miss the flop and I have made back any losses incurred and a bit more on top.

As Assistance says, I think it's pointless blaming the software (although I have had a whinge or two myself ) because there are so many bad players on PKR. I've learnt to accept that now

It's not really how 'bad' the beats are that concerns me it's the frequency of the beats. I guess I just expect my good cards to hold up more often.

To Nation: Where can I find these stats for PKR? Are they on the website? Or do you mean I should keep a note and create my own stats?

its all about notes and note taking
personally I have detailed notes on every player I have played
and mark people repeatedly if they are a donk, thats the key is marking the donkeys,

even if u think u get best hand going pre flop, factor in the continuation bets you know they will make.

i find it kinda funny, not insulting towards those that post in this thread about bad beats, and unlucky plays.... but

in my last 20 tournaments i have played on PKR,
i have got knocked out by AA 8 times.

wheres my suck outs? why cant people post there bad beat threads with me knocking them out? why do their AA always hold up only against me?

I also have a very strong theory on why theres so much talk about the cards and I'd like to get that written, I hope it will shed some light for a lot of you.
