I think everyone knows that bad beats can happen and everyone knows crazy cards can come out.
I think the main gripe is the consistency of it happening at PKR and the colourful flops that seem to come out.
Often the flops are linked: 8-9-10, 6-7-8. Or double linked: Kc, Qc, Jh (Flush and straight), 7d-8d-8s etc
Straights and flushes seem to come out a lot. Yesterday I was dealt Q-9 twice in fairly quick succession. I called everytime (well limped everytime). Once I flopped the straight (8-10-J), once the straight hit on the turn. I limped mainly because of PKR believe it or not.
There often seems to be 'hooks' too that just keep you going. I nearly busted out of a tourney yesterday when I had 10-8 in the BB. All folded and SB limped. Flop came Q-10-8. But SB had limped with J-9. And just I shut down PKR as virtually a similar fate came about. I was dealt J-10 suited and called a small raise. Flop was A-J-10. But the raiser had K-Q. My loss wasn't that great because of their stack size but I was just so pissed off it happened again. "PKR keep me hooked into a hand" (well that's the thought that goes through my head anyway. lol)
And I saw the daily bad beat. Six seater table, one guy had AK suited, the other AA. Well it was carnage for the guy with AK (although he did overplay it in my opionion).
And this is what I see time and time again (not just to me, to other players). I may be paranoid. I may be imagining stuff. But I will echo the sentiments of other players - it doesn't seem to happen on other sites I play, although this may be due to the fact I play PKR more than anywhere else.
Now I try and see how it all works. While playing, when I have folded, I actually sit here with a pack of PKR cards (very nice, thank you

) and deal out six hands and a flop. I have yet to see in these live cards the scale of what I see on the screen. I know it's no where near as many hands to judge by, but I wanted to test it. In fact, in a six seater most hands were junk and would have folded. Now and again 2 hands would face each other, but it was a rare occasion to see them both get something from the flop.
I also fully understand PKR's stance on the fact that it doesn't matter to them who wins a hand. However, the conspiracy theorists don't claim that certain people are favoured, but more that the hands need to be 'juiced' so they bet more and PKR get more rake. On that line of thought, it certainly would be beneficial to PKR to make the hands a bit more 'spicy' for anyone. However, I personally do not believe this to be the case.
Having said all that, I don't think that PKR is rigged. I don't think it would be in their interest to rig anything. Far too risky. However, I do not have complete faith in the shuffling algorythm they use and I am still not 100% convinced it is not flawed. It may well be throwing out perfectly random numbers, but the amount of times I see connected cards hit the board just makes puts a slight doubt in my mind.
I love the PKR software and I keep playing there and believe it or not I am a winning player at the cash tables (I suck at tourneys). But I sometimes wonder ...
