Im not saying PKR doesn't have more bad beats than other sites, but I don't see why they would do it on purpose?

Hmm - in balance - that's one article writer's opinion, on a website. Also doesn't add credence to a well thought out article when it ends ..

.... nothing below. Doesn't smack of professionalism.

Also they mention how it can't be favourable for them to "break" players as they need their money and custom. Well, if no one re depositied they'd not make any money after a while and everyone would slowly go skint :-)

also, "typically have about 5% of the players who are consistent big winners, some 15% that are more or less breaking even and the other 80% are losing money"

Explain how I start by placing in money nearly every single game, for weeks on end (SNGs) then it becomes nigh on impossible. Then I move to another site, and Bingo! back to winning nigh on every game (instantly) ?

Of course I've changed my game over time, but the contrast was incredible. Hands holding up at last basically. Now I don't fear playing a favourite hand.

I'm open to all sorts of theories, not least that I'm crap and I've had "streaks", but I won't take a shoddy article like that as proof of fair play.

Yes this is one writers opinion, but if your just going to discredit because its "that's one article writer's opinion, on a website" maybe we should discredit everything you say because you're just one guy writing on a forum? We wouldn't get very far if we all had that attitude!

I think you should re read this article and spend less time on trying to discredit the English and professionalism from the writer and spend more time reading what the article is actually saying.

Of course this isn't proof that PKR isn't cheating, i'm sure gaming associates are the only ones that can tell us that. The article is trying to say why would poker sites cheat when they'd make more money in the long run by playing fair.

Or maybe your right and by losing players like yourself and others that feel the site is rigged then PKR will go skint? Who knows?

Absolutely! - I certainly don't think my opinion carries any more weight than anyone elses.

I just feel one article by someone saying it's all probably ok is equally invalid :-)

yeah yeah :-) - I know - it was just a point. The point being everything we read is as true as much as we belive it to be.

I have done much research into 'fixing' on these sites, pkr in particular, as i too have experienced hand after hand, game after game, day after day of having the best starting hand and being beaten by (it would seem ) any 2 cards. PKR has not created a RNG, but uses an existing one (therefore exonerating themselves of any 'non-randomness' blame.
This to me, is no excuse whatsoever, and the fact that so many people are complaining about extreme longshots consistantly coming in, tells its own story. The problem we have is proving that the stats just dont add up.

I do however believe that PKR can somehow control the win/lose percentage of any given player, as new players (whether fish or not) seem to hit everything - maybe this is to get them hooked, maybe not.

Both you guys raise good points, and shouldnt be verging on becoming personal over a difference of views - the points are still valid.
1/ these sites should have no interest in 'fixing' games (through RNGs manipulation)- as the more realistic the play, the more sought after the site is
2/ opinions will always differ on whether online and offline play is different -varying on the experience of the preacher, and the listener.

The point is that there is a reason that this and many other forums have been set up, a reason why many many poker players find these forums and voice their opinions, and that far too many people (yes some of which are simply bitter) have brought this particular point up.

...So.. how do we prove it, and ultimately solve it...

...well, however it happens, PKR will listen if enough people complain through the right channels forcing them to not only review their choice of RNG (of which they have already admitted to me that they know it isnt truly random- but then there isnt one out there that is), but also to be under scrutiny from the governing bodies forcing a more acurate gaming payout.

I dont see either happening, as no governing body actually regulates these sites, and if pkr wanted to they could run poker without any, say, 2's and A's, as long as they stated so clearly. There is no such body as a 'World Poker Association' to verify anything with, therefore no legal presidence to conform to, and the bottom line is, if you dont think its realistic, then you dont have to play on it.

This is, again, only my opinion -and believe me, I wish this wasnt the case, as we all know that pkr gameplay is phenomenal- it just lets itself down -where it counts - to those who know better.

Even though I formally requested that they close my account last night after another (lets call it bad play) beat, I had a phone call from a Director today to tell me that they were closing my account forwith.

I poliely pointed out that is what I had requested because of RNG they use being far from random ( aledgedly its an old RNG the top sites have disposed of because it could be proved it was flawed)

So they may have got this RNG on the cheap to placate shareholders on start up.

One thing is for sure, there are bad players, good players and exceptional players all stating that PKR is a dodgy site.

Rather than face the negative posts they decided to close my account. Regardless of my decision beforehand, this shows that they can not face up to criticism - that smells in itself.

I maybe banned from this site as well, although I believe pkrnation has more integrity than PKR and as far as I know I still have not broken any rules.

I would like to post occasionally to let you know my results from more reliable sites - lets see what happens
