$5 sit and go on PokerStars
I lasted a fair bit longer here, but I'll use the same timeframe of 30 minutes (just 3 levels at Pokerstars. They use 10 minute levels to PKR's 8 minute levels): The flop was all suited on 2 occassions The flop was never fully connected. However, this did happen half way through the next level (after the allotted time) when 9-10-J appeared. Horrible beat: Hard to find one. Worst I think was A-Q v Q-8 and an 8 hit the river. My exit was ordinary. Got myself short stacked again. I was dealt 5-5 on the button and pushed. Got called by J-J and the Jacks held up. Totally different experience. I know this is only a single game comparison, but it does highlight some differences. I didn't win anything at either site, but I enjoyed PokerStars so much better. It's definitely harder to make a hand there. I am approaching 400 games and I still haven't had a flush! I came close once. Had Q-10 of diamonds and 2 diamonds flopped, but no one called when I bet out. lol |

It's a horrible beat for the guy with A-4. It's not very often that 2 players flop a full-house. I don't know what the odds are for that, but I know the individual odds:
The odds of flopping a full-house with pocket pairs is 136-1 The odds of flopping a full-house with unpaired hole cards is 1,087-1 And you said yourself, "... in a savage way". A horrible beat, savage beat, brutal beat. Call it what you will It's not really a bad beat because the best hand pre-flop stayed in front on the flop and held up. I just think the guy with A-4 probably needs a new monitor and/or keyboard if he punched out after that. lol Last edited by TrueForm : 06-06-2007 at 03:20 PM. |

Ah i see what you ment now, i only class a bad beat as when someone catches improbable cards to make a better hand (3 outers or less generally). In my classification of a bad beat what you posted wasn't a bad beat, it was the best hand holding up. The guy with the A4 should never have been in the pot in my opinion and got what he deserved :P
