Wow, this threads still active
I'm back at PKR
Basically, leaving here was probably one of the worst decisions i've made in poker. I felt I had too after being chat banned, forum banned, etc, and to start with I didn't regret it once.
I played so many more hands, on 6 tables at Hollywood Poker, and my bankroll graph was steadily rising up and up. I'd clear $100 bonuses every 3 days. It seemed too good to be true. I peaked at around $5800 (Started with $25 here). And that was after buying a 32" HDTV, 22" and a 20" TFT monitor among tons of other things out of it!
Then it began. An absolutely unreal downswing that started at the end of December 07 and ended mid April 08. My BR went from $5800 to $1000. It wasn't a nice feeling!
And I by no means tilted or got outplayed either, but almost everytime i'd get my stack in whilst ahead, i'd be almost guaranteed to lose. Hell, one DAY (two sessions) I had the higher full house on the turn and lost to river quads...THREE TIMES. I ended that day $1300 down @ $200NL
It became natural for me to get reraised when I held KK, and even if they held a lower PP and not the rockets...they'd hit their set. My last straw was hitting the nutflush on the turn, and then losing to a straight flush (1 out) on the river when all in
So I came back here in the 3rd quarter of April. In that time not only am I almost $800 up, but I hit my first royal flush!
I actually forgot how weak the play here is, people calling pot bets on backdoor flush/straight draws, calling huge bets 2-4 outs on the turn - the games are so much slower and it takes alot of getting used too, but oddly enough, there's more potential to finish 3+ buyins up. I used to think losing 2-3 buyins in a session here was bad enough, but i'd usually pull it back the next day. But losing 2-3 buyins p/session for 3-4 months is another story!
I still find it funny though when you're big blind and everyone behind you limps in, you raise to x8 and every single player calls. I've played on so many networks and it only happens here!
