It's been quite an unbelivable day on PKR. I decided to have a whole day there to give it comparison but I just ended up shutting it down again. I am not joking now, but trips has lost everytime I have seen it today. Either to a flush or a straight. I bust out of a tourney when I hit trip 3's on the flop and my all-in was called by a flush draw. Flush hit the river. Went back to cash games and had the reverse a bit later. I raised with K-Q hearts, got called by JJ. J hit the flop as well as 2 hearts. He didn't bet big enough and I spiked a flush on the river. I just had 9-9, a 9 hit the flop but the river gave the only caller a straight.

There are a few other occasions where I can't recall the exact cards involving other players. Seen quads twice today also, one of them beating my full-house (grrr). I have seen quads only once (at PokerStars) in 3 weeks.

I know people here do like to blame the players for what happens on PKR, but I have spent the last 3 weeks on PartyPoker and PokerStars, in those 3 weeks I haven't seen anything like what has happened in just this one day on PKR. The fact remains, wether the players call all the way or not, that boards like 6-7-8-9 and 3-4 suited cards are more common on PKR than other sites.

There are large periods when PKR seems fine where the cards appear normal and I have had a day of winning and losing there today. I really like PKR and I have a rakeback deal, so I keep giving it a chance, especially reading positive comments here.

Don't get me wrong, there have been the odd crazy boards at PokerStars, but I can accept the occasional few, that's fine. And it's not all about bad beats either. I've had one or 2 of them also at PokerStars, I can handle those. I just can't handle the endless stream of linked boards on PKR.

A few examples today. I had 4-5 in the big blind and see a free flop.

Cool. I've rivered a straight! (somehow)
I bet the pot, the other 2 go all-in !!
What?! I can only imagine one of them has K-J. I fold. Well, they BOTH had K-J

Similiar scenerio a few hands later. I have 7-6 in BB and once again, get a free flop.

Flop is 9-8-5 ... Yay!!!
I bet the pot, 1 caller.
Turn 10 ... still, erm, yay?!
I bet, he calls
River J

My heart sinks. I check, he bets fairly small. I reluctantly call, hoping he's bluffing. Nah, he turns over the Q

The list is quite extensive just for today. Straights beaten by bigger straights. Same with flushes. Flushes beating straights. 5% runner runners sliding in left right and center.

I can give PKR no more chances. I have a theory as why their shuffle algorythm could be flawed after reading their integrity page, but it is just a theory with no evidentual back-up so I won't babble on about it.

Now I just need to decide between PokerStars and PartyPoker. (Stars in favourite at the moment)

Hand #1 - You played perfectly. A pot size bet was a good move. Some players on here would have gone allin. This is a perfect example of not over betting and going for the kill.

Hand #2 - The other player had no business calling you in the first place. When hands keep going to the river this shit will happen. You can't blame PKR for bad players.

Yeah, I know you're right. Just venting I guess. Can you believe the guy that called with the Q actually had Q-2 !! I have no idea what the hell he was doing.

I really enjoy playing PKR. I like the pace of the games, I like the graphics, I like the rakeback (I play mostly cash) but the bad players are driving me crazy. lol

One example I forgot to mention (this is another case of bad play). I flopped 2 pair when I had 5-6 and the flop was 5-6-8 rainbow. One caller called my bets with K-Q suited and runner runner diamonds gave him the flush. His only reason for calling was apparently that he had 2 overcards!

I concede that you are right. It is the players and I just needed to rant after another bad beat.

lol, how many times is this going to happen to me? Damn 3-of-a-kind is costing me a fortune.

I manage to limp with 5-5. 5 hits the flop. I'm short stack in a STT so push. Get called by the big stack who hits a flush and I go out on the bubble. Boooo.

I did manage to win earlier with trip aces so they do sometimes win. lol

Can add I managed to limp with 5s in a $1/$2 cash game the other day. Hit trips, it ended up with me and two others all-in after a bit re-raising and another going all-in. Can report they held up and I scooped a pot of net worth about $250-$300.

So they do hold up, the other two players: one had two pair and the other had top pair top kicker.

However, would say on PKR you see the biggest chasers of any of the sites I've played on. Equally, this means you can value bet bigger all the way and give them bad odds. Also, and I see this time and time again (I even do it and get burnt), try to avoid unraised pots - they can prove very costly.

I know they hold up a fair amount, I just seem to be going through a bad patch with them at the moment

I feel your pain, as I'd been going through a rough patch, though some of it was due to bad play on my part, some was just plain bad luck.

Well I had trips 4 times today and won with all of them. Thank God that little hoodoo is over. hehe
