The World Series of Poker Europe 6-16 September 2007
The World Series of Poker Europe is only a month away and many of the world's top players have already submitted their entry fees. Those registered for the inaugural WSOPE include Phil Hellmuth who states, "I'm going to London to make history again by winning the first WSOP bracelet ever awarded outside of Las Vegas.", Phil Ivey, Ten time bracelet winner Doyle Brunson said, "I'm definitely going, I was at the first one here and I want to be at the first one there.", Eric Seidel, Eli Elezra, Gus Hanson, Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer and Jamie Gold have already committed to playing. Many other pro's have given verbal commitments for the event, to be played primarily at the new Empire in Leicester Square.
"We're thrilled that so many of the game's biggest names will participate in the World Series of Poker Europe presented by Betfair" said commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. "we fully expect World Series of Poker Europe presented by Betfair to become Europe's preeminent poker tournament. The early sign ups and limited venue size means that each field will have limited capacity. If players want to play in these inaugural events alongside the best players in the world, I encourage them to pre-register well in advance to solidify their seat."
The inaugural WSOP Europe begins September 6 with a three-day, £2,500 HORSE event starting on September 6, at The Casino at The Empire, LCI's newest casino in Leicester Square.
The Empire will also be the host casino for a two-day, £5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament starting September 8.
On September 10, the WSOP Europe Main Event - a six-day, £10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'Em Championship - will begin at The Empire, The Sportsman and Fifty. The playing field will be consolidated beginning September 13 at The Empire.
Registration is available for all three events at every London Clubs International casino in the UK and wire transfers can be sent directly in US dollars, British pounds, and Euros .
These events are usually open for visitors, so for those of you who live in the London area, please feel free to visit the casino's to catch a glimpse of poker royalty. And if you manage to snap some good pictures, we will be happy to post them here for you.
