Default 91 % favorite to win! And still lost!

Yesterday in the casino, just after the rebuy period:
I had pocket eights 8c and 8s. Blinds were 30/60 i had a stack of 1800, average

I was first after the big blind.

I just called.

At a ten seater table, two seats next to me raises to 240, 1 player called
the rest folded and I called.

The flop came

4c Jd 8h

Perfect! I had trips!

I was first to act so i bet a little bit to see what they have. I bet 120.

Two seats next to me goes all in with 1700. The other guy fold immediately.

I was thinking: What could this guy have? The only thing what could beat me was JJ but i didn't think he had it. So i called.

I showed him my trips and he was shocked! He thought he could bluff me away. He already congrats he that i've won.

He had jh 10h

What i am now gonna tell is amazing!

At the turn came 9h

And the river how dramatically 3h

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

And the flop i had 91 % favorite to win the hand
CardPlayer.com - Poker Odds Calculator

Even on the turn i had 75 % to win!

I am still sick of it!

yep that's so sick, i've seen things like that happen 5 times in one night, because i was playing with the most incredible lucker in history.
I started a cashgame at my home and one dude was fckn unbelievable...
He was making the dumbest moves every round like moving allin on a 5$ pot etc, because he was a little bit drunk and extremely loose because of that.
So i had A/9d one time and i raise 4 times the BB, he reraises (like he did every round with craphands) and i called him, thinking if i hit one pair i reraise allin like he does so he just cant call. So the flop came out:A/3/9 rainbow, now im thinking of checking it and let him do the betting, so i did and again he said ''ALLIN'', i call and he says ''shit i was bluffing'' and turns over 10/Q, turncard:J, rivercard, K..........he kept playing like that all night and got a little profit at the end, winning 4 more pots like that from other guys.
But i made a rebuy and was lucky enough to win my money back in the end with a pair of 10's in my hand and hit trips on a rainbow flop he went allin again and i won my rebuy back.
But it was just too sick how he hit runners all night and 6% outs like you explained, some people are just born lucky and their bad play still gets paid...

Live poker is rigged!

lol, no seriously that was some bad luck there. It is good to see that sort of thing happens live though. It reinforces the fact that it actually can happen somewhere else other than online. Conspiracy theorists take note

I play on the internet as well, and it happens a lot more on the internet than in live games. People throw all their money in on a 4 2 offsuit and are cracking aces or kings.

But how do we have to play against these types of 'players'
Do we have to fold everything?

I think the reason why we see so many bad beat online, is bacause you get to play a lot more hands, than if you where playing offline. When a lot more hands are played then Bad beat are inevitable.

"But how do we have to play against these types of 'players' "

To be honest it's a multiple answer question.

1) If it just happens out of the blue - there is nothing you can do about it. I hate to say it, but that's poker

2) If someone is continually raising with junk - wait and pick your moment when you have AA or KK and then let the gods of odds help you out. If you don't want to risk your tounament place in a race, then fold and wait till you have enough chips off other people to do it.

3) If someone is always chasing gutshots and the likes, make them pay. Again, if it's your tournament at stake, let someone else take the risk and collect your chips from other players, and come back to fight when you are well ahead.

The worst possible thing to do is react purely for the sake of reaction.

I know there are times when you just don't know the guy is a dick, and he calls your trips with a gutshot and hits. But that's life, and you will win if you keep doing it.

I often get sat (online and offline) next to a maniac (read idiot). I had one on my left (online) the other day and every single hand (almost), no matter what I did he'd raise it about two or four fold. It got to the point it was really pissing me off and I nearly reacted by calling, but I didn't. I just kept on folding until I had KK in my hand, and enough chips to survive the battle if he sucked out. He pushed all-in and he was gone. On other occasions I just bite my lip and wait for someone else to get fedup and take them out.

Rambling off topic a bit now, but back to the main subject. What can you do? not a lot :-p
