I'll tell you how I'm doing... I'm basically break-even - about $100 - this is because I have an FT and Cake account and I use FT for ring games and cake purely for MTTs - which I'm playing to win - so I'm winning the odd MTT prize, then losing a bunch of juices, then earning it back in ring games to enter more MTTs :-p

It's like my MTT practice site!

lol, I just played a STT at Full Tilt basically because PKR was taking so long to fill up. I finally managed to cash in second place but witnessed a couple of brutal hands. None of these involved me.

First one was A-A v K-K, both players all-in pre-flop. Flop came down K-K-x to smash the aces to bits. lol.

Second one was a peach. Only 3 of us left at this stage. I fold, SB calls, BB checks. Flop comes down 8-8-3. Bet and call. Next card is an 8 to show 8-8-3-8. One pushes all-in, the other calls. One turns over 7-3, he has the full house. The other turns over 4-4, a bigger full house. Then the river comes out ... another 8. So quads on board and the 7 plays to negate the 4-4. (This is a classic example of what can happen if you don't raise. If the 4-4 had raised pre-flop, 7-3 would fold for sure). So that left 2 of us but his stack was just too big for me to get near him.

A-A again showed itself on 2 occasions that I saw, once for me (to double me up) and quads out twice. The cards really are having a crazy time over there at the moment. lol

When you're playing 70 hands per hour, you're going to see a lot of fluctuation with the cards. I once got dealt KK in 6 out of 10 hands in a live game. It happens and we should all be thankful when it does. Only we usually only remember the bad beats and not the suckouts.

Also remember that no player gets to the final table of a big field without suckouts. Start keeping track how many times you suck out vs getting sucked out on. My guess is that after a while you'll see that it's pretty even.

Hehe, I know all that now. My views of rigged cards and weird RNG's has changed for the better over the past few months. And I'm not suggesting for one minute that FT is fixed/rigged/broken in any way. I'm just saying that at the moment, I am seeing a lot more crazy hands than I witnessed before on FT. And yes, I have had my fair share of suckouts too, I can't deny that. Yesterday I was all-in with J-J on a 10 high board when I was short stacked. He turned over 10-10 so he had trips. I hit a J on the river to steal the pot. lol

I just won my first STT at Full Tilt for over a week. And Lady Luck decided to smile on me for once. One important hand was with 5 of us left :

Full Tilt Poker Game #3464689077: $10 + $1 Sit & Go (26475985), Table 1 - 80/160 - No Limit Holdem - 23:05:33 ET - 2007/09/04
Seat 2: TrueForm 5 (1,862)
Seat 6: fcmmaddog (500)
Seat 7: rusdog13 (2,560)
Seat 8: xxSB13xx (3,478)
Seat 9: Red Bull 32 (5,100)
TrueForm 5 posts the small blind of 80
fcmmaddog posts the big blind of 160
The button is in seat #9
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to TrueForm 5 [Qd Qc]
rusdog13 raises to 320
xxSB13xx folds
Red Bull 32 folds
TrueForm 5 raises to 1,862, and is all in
fcmmaddog folds
rusdog13 calls 1,542
TrueForm 5 shows [Qd Qc]
rusdog13 shows [Kh Kd]
*** FLOP *** [8c 9d Qh]
*** TURN *** [8c 9d Qh] [Qs]
*** RIVER *** [8c 9d Qh Qs] [7s]
TrueForm 5 shows four of a kind, Queens
rusdog13 shows two pair, Kings and Queens
TrueForm 5 wins the pot (3,884) with four of a kind, Queens
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 3,884 | Rake 0
Board: [8c 9d Qh Qs 7s]
Seat 2: TrueForm 5 (small blind) showed [Qd Qc] and won (3,884) with four of a kind, Queens
Seat 6: fcmmaddog (big blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 7: rusdog13 showed [Kh Kd] and lost with two pair, Kings and Queens
Seat 8: xxSB13xx didnt bet (folded)
Seat 9: Red Bull 32 (button) didnt bet (folded)

With just a minimum raise and being 4th out of 5 in chips, the decision to push was made quickly. I thought it was curtains when the cards were shown but the Poker Gods decided to favour me this time. So a swift move up to 2nd meant an easy ride into the money from there.

But Lady Luck wasn't finished with me yet. Three of us left and Red Bull has fallen into a pattern. He always raised me in the SB and if I called he always bet out on the flop, 100% of the time. He was chip leader at one point but he didn't head my calls and raises and I managed to steal a few from him. He still kept raising in the SB to my BB so I decided to push back as soon as I had anything decent:

Full Tilt Poker Game #3464960755: $10 + $1 Sit & Go (26475985), Table 1 - 200/400 - No Limit Holdem - 23:29:44 ET - 2007/09/04
Seat 2: TrueForm 5 (6,694)
Seat 7: rusdog13 (4,134)
Seat 9: Red Bull 32 (2,672)
Red Bull 32 posts the small blind of 200
TrueForm 5 posts the big blind of 400
The button is in seat #7
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to TrueForm 5 [8h 8c]
rusdog13 folds
Red Bull 32 raises to 800
TrueForm 5 raises to 6,694, and is all in
Red Bull 32 calls 1,872, and is all in
TrueForm 5 shows [8h 8c]
Red Bull 32 shows [Jh Js]
Uncalled bet of 4,022 returned to TrueForm 5
*** FLOP *** [8s 9s 3d]
*** TURN *** [8s 9s 3d] [Tc]
*** RIVER *** [8s 9s 3d Tc] [5h]
TrueForm 5 shows three of a kind, Eights
Red Bull 32 shows a pair of Jacks
TrueForm 5 wins the pot (5,344) with three of a kind, Eights
Red Bull 32 stands up
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 5,344 | Rake 0
Board: [8s 9s 3d Tc 5h]
Seat 2: TrueForm 5 (big blind) showed [8h 8c] and won (5,344) with three of a kind, Eights
Seat 7: rusdog13 (button) didnt bet (folded)
Seat 9: Red Bull 32 (small blind) showed [Jh Js] and lost with a pair of Jacks

I had him covered at this point so the all-in wasn't a hard decision. I would still have 4,000 chips left if I lost and I wanted to make a stand against his constant raises. So I felt a bit miffed when I saw his J-J but once again, the Poker Gods must have been feeling guilty for last week. Heads up I managed to hold off the challenge of Rusdog.

This is the second STT in a row I have seen quads though at FT, but I don't mind when they land on my side of the table

So it looks like my slump could be over. Between PKR and FT I have managed to re-coup last weeks losses in two days (thanks mainly to an unbelivably good day at PKR yesterday).

Poker is such a roller-coaster ride. It really draws on your emotions. Last week I hated the game, but now I love it again. I wonder why? lol

Gah, I hope things pick up for you soon. With an important event like the WPT you need to have confidence and the right frame of mind. I know you went to Vegas and if you are also in the WPT then you are definitely a bigger player than I am so any losses you get would put mine to shame I imagine.

Good luck at the tables

Funnily - I started stabbing as SNGs on FT yesterday, lost the 1st 2 - one was my wn stupid fault, the second was a bad suckout against a total bluffer. But then I started placing in the money. It's funny - I realised I was playing tournament style and ring game style (which I've been focussing on recently) and this is totally wrong for SNGs. Went back to my SNG style play and started fairing far better. It's a funny old game.

Nation - you'll do fine in the WPT - even if you get a sun tan :-)
