I ditched Ladbrokes when PKR came on the seen around June/July (I remember the world cup was on) last year. l'm more of a tourny/s&g player than cash and enjoyed the ladders and bounty games that they have.
As a promotion for the Ladbrokes Poker Million being aired on Sky Sports they had a bounty game that I'll always remember. The celebs were the usual faces for Ladbrokes, Steve Davis, Phil 'The Power' Taylor, Barry Hearn, Roy 'The Boy' etc...
Anyway there were around 600 runners and I ended up with Barry Hearn AND Roy 'The Boy' at my table with $1000 on their heads. $10 entry umlimited rebuys for the first hour then the bounty kicks in after the break. I made Barry Hearn re-buy twice before the break and went head to head with Roy three times looking for the $1000 bounty. Roy was four seats to my right.
The first clash he had raised 4 times blind everyone else folded, so I called having a decent amount to chips to spare. I had 9 5 hearts and two hearts on the flop. He goes allin, I call (with fingers crossed). No hearts drop, he had pkt 10's, Roy 1, me 0.
Second time I raise 4 times with KQ clubs (his BB), he comes over the top with allin, I call. He shows a pair of Jacks, I don't hit. Roy 2, me 0. This time he puts a big dent in my stack and I go back to trying to re-build my stack to more than what hes got.
After a while he got knocked back down to below my stack (someone else had a go at him and was more successful) without me really gaining anything.
The third clash was between three players. Roy goes allin with about 1.5K, I go allin with about 3K trying to make it a head to head but someone else joined in sat two places to my left. Roy shows KJ off, I show pkt 4's next player shows pkt 7's. The pkt 7's won taking the $1000 bounty.
*edit* Steve Davis is a good player and nice guy, if you get the chance to watch him do so. He is quite chatty to the table and to the observers. He ended up coming second in the tourny I mentioned.
