Doh, we have rakeback at Full Tilt as well. All you have to do is ask
FT is good, sometimes it's packed with fish at lower levels, especially on friday and saturday nights.

Here's a question: Do you have a rakeback deal at FT (or PKR for that matter)? And if so who with? Can you have a deal with yourself, if you know what I mean? |

FT vs PP - my findings after about 10 SNGs - the players on FT are at least twice as good as PP. I'm struggling to place in SNGs. I'm slightly up, but it's damn hard work lol.
PP I find there are 3 people out after 10 mins. FT - in a 10 seater, it's not unusual for all to be still in after 20 mins. And the last 5 seats get really tight. Enjoying it, but finding the game interface unhelpful. Maybe I'm on a downturn at the moment, but the quality of players on FT is very good imo |

I've been playing there a few days now and I agree, there are some good players on FT.
I had a bad start with a couple of bad beats and lost a buy-in fairly fast. But I recovered now I am in profit. Playing mainly cash games it is definitely a grind. It's hard to get cash out of some of the players. Fortunately there are the occasional donks and fish to help boost the bankroll. I've played a few Sit n Go's and I am in profit from those. I've only played 8, unplaced in 4, grabbed 2nd spot 3 times and won once. All at the $5 level (they aren't my strong point but I'm getting there). I spent $44 and got back $63, so I'm happy with that so far. I am looking to improve in these because they can be a good money spinner I think and I know a few players make a good living from them at higher levels. I also like the idea that if I go all-in with a fullhouse and it gets cracked by quads or some other sick beat, I only lose $5.50. lol I actually love the software. I was a bit dubious at first, but I found the Racetrack view and turned off avatars and now I love it. I seem to be getting nice rakeback too. Mainly because on Full Tilt, the rake for any pot is divided between all players dealt in the hand whereas others are based on how much you contribute to the pot. So if I fold but the rake hits the maximum $3 for that hand, I still get 0.33c from a 9 seater table or .50c from a 6 seater (even more if players are sitting out!) I also love the bonus being released in $20 increments too. A great idea. I think Full Tilt is my new home. I've tried a few now and this is by far my favourite. I do also like PokerStars, VCPoker (iPoker network) and I think PartyPoker is my least favourite. I just couldn't handle the uber fast software. And of course there is PKR, but I think I will let PKR settle in a bit longer and let the fish and donks frazzle out a bit. Seems crazy to think a site is too fishy! Good luck at the tables Dodgey. Keep up the good work Last edited by TrueForm : 07-05-2007 at 12:44 AM. |

:-) - heheh - yep - looking forward to my rakeback.
You are bang on about SNGs - you can only lose your stake - which adds a big comfort zone. I usually plkay 10$ SNGs and have dabbled in $20 but I've stepped back to 5$ at FT until I'm more comfortable. I've switched the stoopid avatars off too. It's not that interface that bothers me, it's fairly generic, it's the actual "game finding" bit - the main interface. Even with the filters it can be a pain to find the game you want, especially cash games where you highlight a game, and because it fills, it moves away and you are left to scroll and search again. I'm trying cash ring games more as I need them to grind my bonus. I've come out up (x2) on 2 games, lost my $10 buy in on 2 games too - I have a fair bit to learn about cash games. I've also sat next to the odd donks. Had one where There was xJx on the flop, I bet large, to block a flush draw, another chap called. I continued big through to the river as the board did not improve for him, and he just kept at it, until he was $8 all-in - he didn't even have a Jack (I had JJ) lol. He reloaded and I carried on chipping away at him. Seems a little off having 9 players instead of 10 though. I prefer 10 - more money, and it makes little difference to the overall game (SNG) |

lol - I'm going back to Party Poker. Far more fish there! This is a classic exmaple of an FT SNG:
40 minutes into a game - there is only ONE person gone. NO ONE is below 1000 chips. Forty bloody minutes. Gonna wait till I clear my 1st bonus step - very near now, then cash out and go back to PP. BTW: an existing example: Holdem Indicator (analyses all players), when at PP, usually shows me and one other at the table as "good money player" - tight agressive, solid. At Full Tilt it's not uncommon to see 8 of the 9 players marked as tight agressive solid. Update - LOL - I won the uber slow game - 1 hour and 18 mins Last edited by Dodgey101 : 07-10-2007 at 02:18 PM. |

Good luck wherever you play bud. I can't see me leaving Full Tilt anytime soon. It's by far my favourite site and I wish I'd tried it ages ago.
I'm getting better at SnG's. The last 3 I played I've finished 2nd twice and won once. My overall record so far at Full Tilt SnG's: Played: 13 Won: 2 2nd: 5 3rd: 0 Not cashed: 6 They are only the $5 ones but I'm showing a profit of $41. If I didn't have the bonus to clear I might switch my attention to them mainly and start moving up. As a side note, I watched Phil Ivey in a cash game last night on Full Tilt. He was sat there with around $40,000 (I wish my bankroll was anywhere near that size) playing the $200/$400 and the guy is relentless. He raised virtually 100% of the time from any position. Bet virtually every flop. So hard to put him on a hand. I watched for about 20-30 minutes and never once saw anyones cards! It rarely went to the river with raises and re-raises and when it did, a big bet or raise on the river usually won it. Phil's playing style is scarey. His chips were up and down like a roller-coaster. Also saw Huck Seed playing in a $500 SnG, a $300 SnG as well as 2 cash tables at the $5/$10 level. Guess they weren't busy in Vegas! lol |

Out of interest - what's your playing style? I'm guessing you are rather agressive post flop? I guess that purely because I think most of the $5 SNG players at FT are very very tight and a good helping of aggression is needed to win. I stole a fair few pots today when I realised how truly tight my table was.
I wanna watch the pros! is there an easy way to locate them in FT? |
