Some of the top poker players are golf aficionados, and it's not unusual for them to wager large sums on the golf course. This is what will happen today when nine players, in three teams, wager $1 million each on a golf competition televised for ESPN.

The first team consists of 11 WSOP-bracelets winner Phil Hellmuth, Billy Walters, who owns the golf course where the game is taking place, and 1994 WSOP Main Event winner Russ Hamilton.

Team two is made up of three-time bracelet winner Dewey Tomko, World Poker Tour commentator Vince Van Patten and the "Texas Dolly" himself Doyle Brunson, who was betting on golf even before the members of the last team were born.

The young-guns team consists of poker professional and experienced golf player Erick Lindgren, three-time WSOP winner Daniel Negreanu and two-time WSOP winner Josh Arieh.

Then the players are moving on to play a paired event with a $250,000 buyin.
