Don't you just hate teaser hands?
lol, I think I lose most of my cash and/or chips playing what I call 'teaser' hands.
I just had a typical example. It's a 0.25/0.50 cash game, everyone folded around to the button. The button min raised, SB folded and I am sat in BB with Ad Jc. Easy call
So we have $2.25 in the pot.
Flop comes down: 9d 10d Qd
Wow, lovely flop for me. I like that one. I have so many outs. Nut flush draw, "double belly" straight draw. I bet out $3. He raised to $6, I call.
Pot is now $14.25
Turn is 3c - gah!
I check, he bets $8. With odds of almost 3-1, I call
Pot is now $30.25 and getting juicy (well maybe not for you high rollers. lol)
River is 5s - Doh!
If he hadn't raised on the flop and bet the turn, I would have considered a bluff here, but I'm fairly certain he has something. I check, he goes all-in.
And there we have it. I have committed $15 to the pot - almost 1/3rd of my buy-in, we're at the river, I have ace high and the other player has just lumped another $30 bet in.
It was an easy fold and I never did find out what he had but I hate losing like this. It's almost as bad as a bad beat. The poker Gods give you so much hope sometimes, then they point fingers and laugh at you. lol
Still, I suppose that's we all love about poker. One day it will be someone else in my position, chasing the draws and I'll be the one cashing in. In fact, it has probably already unknowingly happened to me. lol
