"Do the math"

This has to be the funniest thing said to me today. It was a typically normal hand that sparked the remark. I had A-5 on the button and just limped in. I don't like play reg aces, but it was cheap and I had position so I decided to see a flop.

The flop wasn't bad. A-A-3, with 2 clubs. There were 3 of us seeing the flop and the BB bet out the minimum bet. This made me think he had the flush draw. The other guy folded. I decided to see if it was a draw or if he had an ace too. I put in an 8x raise. He called. The next card was Qc. I didn't like this card at all. We both checked. River was another low card. I'm now not too sure about my hand. He could now have the flush, or an ace with a better kicker. We both check it down and he shows his flush. A huge 8 flush! Yep, he had played 8-4 clubs. Despite my big raise on the flop, he still called chasing that massive flush. I called him a flush chaser, to which he replied "I am. Do the math"

Now I assume he meant that he could hit a flush consistently or he thought it was easy. Not too sure. I just said "lol, you keep playing the way you are now, I don't have a problem with it"

I certainly wasn't going to explain anything to him. Let him stay in his little world.

He had sat down with $25. This had risen up to $30 thanks to me. It was quite interesting then to see him leave the table about 30 minutes later with just $8. Seeing him call to the river with 2 suited cards on the flop then fold away when a 3rd didn't hit was getting funny. He constantly called raises and folded tamely on the flop. He didn't respond to my comments of "Are the maths not working out for you?", so I left it at that. lol

It's amazing to see how many players love suited cards on PKR, no matter what they are. And they can be profitable cash machines, but they will obviously get lucky sometimes which is annoying. lol
