Your only other option would have been to raise more preflop - however how much would you have had to raise to drive PelleSvinrik out of the pot ? With his stack he is possibly calling you for anything less than 50% of your stack.

Of course once he sees that flop theres no way you are getting away - or can laydown!

I dont think you fck'd up,
honestly I dont see either of you laying down at any stage
even if you both seen the turn with out being all-in, it was gonna happen.

AA = Top pr with nut straight & flush draw
AJ = straight on flop, with 2nd best flush draw

he did have you covered by almost x2 (~1.93)

and if you go all in pre flop, he thinks your trying to save your sb.

a question to ask yourself is not if you could have played it anyworse, but

Would you have called?:
if you checked and he put you all in

AA is tough to let go, but most times when holding them, you think you are ahead.

Edit: congrads btw $$

wouldnt have mattered how much you raise
the other person was going all in to any raise.

I think the only way you could have won this pot was to call his orignal bet of $1.8k and then pushed on the flop.

Personaly I prefer to slow down K's
yes bet strong, but call bet's.

Atleast if there is an ace on the flop you have some chance of getting away. And only calling his pre flop bet, and see'n the flop, there would be some re raise action to get information.
Basically you told him to comit himself pre flop
and with AJh, low stack he thought great chance to double up.

But if i had called his pre flop raise and went to the flop on which he did not hit, I then raised before the turn would he of not still called my raise anyway or pushed all in?

yes that is the hypathetical situation
but my point is, atleast give your self the chance to lay a big hand down.

scenario: u call his bet pot is +$20000
ok you both see that flop Dealing Flop [7s 2s 9h]
you check, he goes all in($9380) .....what do u do ?
what do you put him on ? 77, 99, A9, QQ, JJ, TT , XXs, etc
can you let go of 1 pair ?

remember you were in first place and called all in with 1 pair.
what I am trying to make you think is.
give yourself the chance to fold a big hand, rather then risking so much of your stack pre flop vs people that NEED to double up.
