Default Straight flush draws

I find it very hard to lay down straight flush draws, it's happened to me a couple of times recently, for example:

I have about 1200, blinds are 100/200, I'm on the blind with 6c 9c and there is one caller...
Flop comes 7c 8c Kh, caller bets 200 and I call, turn is x, he bets 400, should I fold here? I can't and I call, river is another blank for me, he bets and I fold... now I've lost half my chips, but I just can't resist the straight flush draws
I should mention that I've picked up 3 straight flushes in as many weeks (and all diamonds!!)
What would people do in this situation? If it's not open ended and they bet enough I would fold, but it pains me...

You misplayed this hand in my opinion. If you flop an O-E straight flush with 6x BB, thats an instant allin.

I would have re raised all in on the flop
the reason I go all in, is so I don't fold to a bet on the turn
thus taking advantage of my odds

Yep, the all-in bet is actually quite a good move. If you have an open ended straight draw AND a flush draw on the flop, the odds are about even that you will hit a straight or a flush by the river. So you actually have the odds to go all-in. Also, it would be very difficult for him to call if he didn't have a King and it's very likely he would fold second or bottom pair. Even if he has a draw himself or even a K with a poor kicker it's hard to call. You will hit 50% of the time if you do get called and there is the chance you would take it down there and then. And if you're willing to throw half your chips at the hand, you may as well go all the way.

Hmmm, I guess I'm playing too tight, but I have a real problem pushing all-in with any kind of drawing hand, even if it's evens odds to catch. I thought the idea was to make sure you had the nuts BEFORE you push all-in?

Sometimes you have to outright steal the pot. If you're on a drawing hand, you're not totally bluffing. If you have 14 outs then you're even money to catch the card you need.

if your only pushing all in when you have the nuts
then yes, you are playing way to tight
