agreed, minraising preflop is for people who are scared to put out a little money.
worst play ever.......dont see howe it can be good please tell me one good reason to minraise preflop? dont come with ''i got aces and i want some action''
because you will lose if 18 people on a 6 man table :P call your ''minraise''.

I don't think it's such a terrible play, if used strategically. But I do agree that it can become seriously annoying if it's happening in every hand from the first. I've been "guilty" of doing it on occassion, but within reason I think.

Typically towards the end of the first hour of a MTT or near the bubble on SNG's, after the blinds have turned a couple of times, and in mid to late position. The table can't be too sure if I'm bluffing and holding cr4p as my play up to that point has typically been pretty tight. Wins me a couple of blinds occassionally.

Like so many things, I guess the key is moderation.

what is wrong with limping then?!? and call a weak raise.
Also minraise tells alot about the hand you holding..normally that is exactly the range of hands i put people on who minraise, 10/j, 10/q, q,j etc and suited cards. Limping is the better option with A/2s and Q/Js i think.
