PKR Software: Paid PKR hand history analyzers

For a lot of pokersites there is a huge variety of software available. Programs like Pokertracker 3 and HoldemManager are really popular amongst serious pokerplayers who use it to improve their game. (Un)fortunately software like this is not available for PKR. Both Pokertracker 3 (PT) and HoldemManager (HEM) dont support PKR handhistories making it impossible to import you handhistories in the software.
Pokertracker 3 and HoldemManager are actually 2 programs combined. A database program, which allows you to track your play and results (and that of your opponents) and a HUD which you can use to see how your opponent is playing.

How to get these programs to work with PKR?

To get PT3 and HEM to work with PKR there are three possibities.
1: wait for PT3 or HEM to support PKR
2: wait for someone to write a new program to work with PKR
3: convert your handhistories to a format that does work with PT3 or HEM

Since we dont want to wait, we choose option 3

You can either write a script yourself to convert it, let your whizkid nephew do it for you or you can buy a script on PKR hand history converter for Pokertracker and Holdem Manager

This script doesnt move your handhistories; it does have an autoimport every x minutes option, but this will cause the script to convert the same hh's over and over again. I use this script, and I allways import my hands at the end of the day when I am done playing. Never during play.
Now you have a batch of pokerstars hh's which you can import in PT3 or HEM

HoldemManager is available for $55 for a version that only covers small stakes (up to the $0,50/$1.00) or $80 for the full version
Pokertracker is available for $90

I prefer HEM because it has a few nice features that PT doesnt have, like EV calculations and more filtering options. HEM also comes with a few nice articles that help you to improve your game using HEM.

HUD?

If you take a look at PKR hand history converter for Pokertracker and Holdem Manager you will see it promises a working HUD. This is the HUD of PT3 or HEM.
There are a few catches to this.
In order to get the hud working you will have to make a series of empty .txt files which you will have to name after the tables you are playing. The HUDs of PT3 and HEM respond to tablenames. Because PKR doesnt open new tables in new windows, you will have to make the tablenames yourself. This can get annoying after a while and makes multitabling difficult
It doesnt work with tournaments.

There is however an alternative. PokerOfficer? - PKR Tracker HUD
This is dedicated HUD that only works with PKR. Since version 1.7 it also comes with a basic database. screenshot

You can buy it for $50

Pokerofficer is new, and is still under development. New features are being added regularly. The latest upgrades brought a graph function and the option to hide stats if they are older then x weeks and the option to toggle to 'all stats' and 'session stats'.


NOTE: DONT TRY TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE LIKE HOLDEMMANAGER OR POKERTRACKER USING P2P PROGRAMS. MOST OF THE PIRATED VERSIONS CONTAIN KEYLOGGERS BECAUSE POKERPLAYERS ARE A VALUABLE TARGET.

PKR Software: Free PKR hand history analyzers

With a large community it is no surprise people started to write their own tools.

One of these tools is the PKR Hand History Analyser written by Magpie.

This tool is not as elaborate as HoldemManager but since it is free it might be useful. The filtering is basic but makes it possible to find certain hands and to plug some leaks.

Hahaha, I will update this soon. Holdemmanager now has PKR support, so if you are looking for pokersoftware, HEM is the way to go.

Did you ever get the HUD working Dunbar? I use the Active player window but its not as convenient

Yes, by making all the .txt files I described. It takes a lot of time tho, and also a lot of room on your desktop so I dont do it anymore.
