Given your position and the fact it is a full table, there is nothing wrong with folding here. However if you are going to play the hand, you may as well commit yourself to the pot with a raise of 4 or 5 times the big blinds or even all in. That way, nobody is going to come over the top with 65. However, you might be put all in by AA, KK, QQ, or AK which would not be good.

It was actually a great situation for you, because you had a great read on the guy and you are 2-1 favourite. And of course by being all in, position is irrelevent. You did nothing wrong.

Personally I would not put myself in the situation where I had such a difficult decision to make. But well done for making the correct decision, because calling was the right thing to do given what the guy had.

When your nearing the bubble you need to decide how important it is to you to scrape the money if it is realy important sit thight and dont take any chances. If you however wanna finnish top 20 or deeper this is the perfect time to play some cards. It is said that you need to use this time to steal the blinds from weaker players. But nowdays so many use this strat that often it is half the table trying to steal the other half blinds. So I think a better strategy is to see if you cant score a good hand and bust some blindstealers hand.

Just like AQ vs 65. Well have a look on the table your at sometimes you can find a table where you can steal blinds . But it ussually when you allready got an good stack ,then it sometimes enough to just double the blinds of struggling players. Better luck next time.

Show strength at this time, no one wants to go out at this stage so your bets will be taken seriously. This is a good time to not just get through the bubble but to increase your stack.

don't ever play to scrape into the money, what do u win? your buyin /x2

if you want to make the real money in a tournament, you need to take advantage before the bubble stage.

Look for those small stacks on the blinds with your marginal hands, they are looking to go all in with something strong, don't wait to make a small stack pot committed just cause they are posting blinds.

Either your flying high from the beginning, massing chips
or you make them up in the middle stage, before the bubble.

Playing MTT's on PKR are a joke.
The quality of play is so terrible that discussing hands and stratergy is a pointless task.
I have given up playing PKR tournaments. You play steady and well for 2+ hours only to get sucked out on by some moronic play by people who can call 4-5 x BB raises with 6-2 Soooooted, will call on every street totally against the odds of the pot for 80% of their stack thinking that those two suited gems they have are the absolute nuts.

Yes, there are plenty of inexperienced plays at the beginning of tournaments on any site, and after the first hour or so the field is usually filtered of extreamly bad play. On PKR any tournament is a complete lottery from start to finish.
In any tournament you are going to need luck along the way to finish up there, but on PKR you need to have your lucky rabbits foot at it's peak performance, a four leaf clover on your keyboard and your star sign in the correct constellation passing through Aries.
There's more skill in purchasing a raffle ticket at the over 60's afternoon than playing a PKR MTT.

I think everyone would understand why Omaha games are looser, which makes probability of wining even that much harder....

it only takes luck to win once, it takes skill to win consistently

Game Type -----Position Start Date
Omaha Pot Limit 2/22 31, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 4/36 30, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 1/27 28, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 1/33 26, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 2/30 22, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 1/32 18, July, 2008
Omaha Pot Limit 2/28 26, June, 2008

After 2 1/2 hrs of playing and u get donked out by 1 hand only shows you don't understand strategy.

I could not agree more!

I got a 1st and 2nd and 3rd in the last two weeks in MTTS (And I played about 6 in that time in total). On 2 occasions I made big wins fairly early in the game, and from then on, you can choose you moments to play - it's quite easy - just keep out of fights where you could get badly hurt and you also have the luxury of calling "desparate" all-in's with plenty of chips to spare.

During the end game, you are sitting pretty and can just play "normal" ABC poker.

Make no mistake - the "Big" wins that set me up had me on the line. Sometimes as the underdog.

The other win, I lost, rebought, and doubled up mid-game, then went on to get a top 3 spot.

Of all the games where I made nothing, or pennies, I got to the 1st break (1 hour) with an average or poor stack. On one occasion busting out 3 places before the bubble.

You really have to work hard early on to contend later. If you find yourself short stacked near the bubble then it's basially "good luck to you" - you don't have enough chips to play very strategically.

Aim high - if you are falling at the bubble you have left it too late
