Well I’ve been indulged in poker for many years now and the only thing remains constant during my entire journey is my discipline and I feel that its great achievement for many players who plays the game with discipline and knows the importance of it.

I totally agree with the 3 main points in the thread.
1. It's all about discipline.
2. Never check pocket KK on the flop with an A.
3. Rockets are made to be shot down, and you will either make very little money or lose a lot..

I was playing a live game last week, against a couple of players I didn't know. Very coldhanded first hour for me, the only big hand I saw was AA small blind. So perfect because 1 guy raised, and I re-raised him, which he called.
Flop comes down Qh 9h 5s (not specifically, but a rag). I put in a continuation bet, and to his call, I was able to place him on 2 hands. Either A K/J suited, waiting for that heart, or pocket QQ? Turn came down flush, and I checked it to him. We checked it down, and although I think I was lucky that the flush came down to calm me down, he eventually turned QQ over and I showed a couple of people watching my folded AA.

I suffered a lot because of the investment made, but it was soon my turn to shoot his rockets; 54 suited on my big blind, and he minimum raises me. He'd been catching a lot of hands all game (10 3 pre flop raise to hit a flush??!!) so I went for it. The flop came to be 3 and 6 of my suit and a 10. How would you have played from here? I pushed all in because I thought I had lots of outs and a blank on the turn would have killed my odds, and hit the straight to beat his trips 6. Eventually I won the 'tourney', and was really happy with the way I played the AA because it gave me a chance to stay in the game.

I have to say, since reading that quote, it's certainly helped me improve my game ... I've had two 1st place finishes in a SnG 10 player tourney, one 3rd and an 8th (1 oclock in the morning ). They were only a $1 buy in but to win 2 outta 4 I was very happy with.
