Default Something Different

I've been using Poker Stars for the past couple months and I'm thinking of extending to other rooms, mainly just to see if there's a difference, but also to have access to other kinds of tournaments (mainly freeroll and low buy-in). I'm considering the following rooms:

- Party Poker
- Pacific Poker
- Poker Loco
- Grandbay Poker
- Bodog Poker
- CD Poker
- Empire Poker
- Full Tilt Poker
- Poker Room
- Titan Poker

Have you tried or heard anything about these rooms? Both positive and negative criticism is welcome. Tell me what you've heard or what your experience has been.Incidentally, outcries of rigging will be ignored. Other than that, any input is much appreciated

Variety is definately key particularly with Tournies.

Party: Has a lot of cheap ($6, $11) MTTs - but nice bog standard freezouts - usually about 550 players in the day time and about 1200 in the evenings. Also has plenty of freerolls if that's your thing. Nice loose players but not insane. - oh - and new players get a 1k freeroll in the 1st week and then 1 months worth of daily $250 freerolls

Full Tilt: Tighter players imho. Great bonus but I find the cheap tourney's practically non existent, and if they are there, then they are rebuy+addon which means they aint so cheap any more. Freerolls - forget it - everyone one listed seems to be private - think they are very mean with freerolls - unless they are buried so deep in menus I can't find them.

Only 2 I have experience with on your list.

If you want to play smaller field tournies then Cake is very quiet at the moment.

I mainly play Pacific Poker (888), they have a good number of freerolls and some real cheap (usually gauranteed prize) tournies as low as 1c buy-ins!

Plus they're listed here: eCOGRA : e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance

I've been pushing Cake Poker and for good reason, the main one is the soft players. There's no reason a good player can't make a living on this site, it's a stocked pond full of fish.

Last night they ran a 50k and had a 50% overlay. What more can you ask for. The top 60 got paid and making the money wasn't hard at all.

They also run a nice $20 Bounty game. $10 of the $20 gets put on each players head, knock them out and collect $10. The other $10 goes into the prize pool.

They're also running a nice WPT event game which someone who visits here regularly has already won the 12k package.

Seriously guys, I'm not trying to sell you on a poker room, this place will sell itself if you give it a shot.

If you want to try it out, download Cake Poker.

From your list, Full Tilt is probably the most recommended. If you want to try something different. Here's *poker12.co.uk*. They offer freerolls and a lot of different tournaments. So, go on with www.poker12.co.uk hope you like it.

I used to play Poker Stars exclusively, but have switched to Bodog simply because I find the competition to be much weaker. I don't know why, it's just easy to find plenty of really bad players there who think they're playing craps. I'm not complaining of course, it's awesome! A solid player can sit back and wait for the cash to flow. Only downside is the payouts take forever. They do come though, eventually. I avoid the fees by withdrawing any excess bankroll on the first of each month. A withdrawal made on June 1st is enroute Fedex right now...
