That commentator is a doofus. I don't see a problem with Chad checking the river here. Chad says it himself, if she didn't have an ace then she probably wouldn't have called. Chad made the most he possibly could have from that pot. If he bet then at worse it would have been a split pot. Especially the way the hand was played Chad was going to extract no more chips from Chrissie. Chad may have made a mistake on the flop unless he felt he was trapping, but a bet on the flop would have been reraised and he would have ended up losing the pot. Swings and roundabouts i suppose

THE COMMENTATOR IS A DOOFUS?!?! You have the STONE COLD nuts, and you check?! Who cares if she folds if you bet?! You have absolutely no chance of losing the pot, put more money in! As she says after the hand is over, she believed they were splitting with just quads! She may very have called! Checking the stone cold nuts in position on the river is, without a doubt, the stupidest play any hold'em player can make.

In this situation i where i felt my opponent had the same hand as i do or was going to fold to any bet i made then i would just check the nuts. Chad may have made a bad read here, but based on the information he had i don't think the check is 'a really big mistake'.
