Thanks for the odds there though. Could you find me the odds for the following please: 5 players in a 10 seater table all being dealt a pocket pair at the same time? Also, what are the odds of 3 players in a 10 seater table being dealt pocket pairs at the same time. And, from that, what are the odds of all 3 players hitting sets in the same hand? Its happened to me, and somebody else I know - and I read a post about it on the PKR forum...ALL WITHIN THE LAST WEEK. Absolute nonsense. |

But that above situation is nonsense - I've watched poker for years and never seen that happen ever. Yes - it could happen.....but seeing as how I've seen it 3 times in the last week, the law of averages and odds says i should nto see this again for maybe another 2 years. I'm actually gobsmacked I've only seen 2 royal flushes ever on PKR. I thought there would have maybe been at least 20. |

I think we are talking about the odds of each hand on show down, not the likelyness of all hitting pocket pairs on PKR - that matter has been caned to death. It doesn't suprise me one bit on PKR - I don't really play there much any more.
One thing I'm will definately agree on, after playing other sites though is you are MASSIVELY more likely to see that kind of round on PKR simply and purely because people call with everything and anything. Picture this - in a "normal" game elsewhere, with "normal" players, you probably would not have seen the guy with 33 or 22 call all-in if the AA guys went 1st - particularly if they were in early positions. A good player with QQ might well fold too if he didn't want to enter a race and was thinking about tournament survival. I'm in no way suggesting what they should have done in that hand, what I'm saying, is on other sites, people lay down pockets - on PKR people go all-in on any pair, Ace rags, you name it, so you are going to see a HUGE amount of pockets vs pockets compared to a more "sane" poker site. And on televised games, you mostly only see "interesting" hands. They don't show all the hands where everyone checks/folds to a raise. So you miss a lot of low pairs being folded. I really am starting to understand that PKR may well not be "broken" but it's the general players that are. Hence you see so much crazy action. |
